What is tenth-lining?

Tenth-lining is the practice of numbering every 10th line of a legal document in the right margin. It is a requirement for documents filed in the Kenya Court of Appeal and Supreme Court under the relevant Practice Directions, allowing judges and counsel to reference specific lines easily during hearings.

What file types can I upload?

We accept PDF files only. Both digitally typed PDFs and scanned PDFs are supported. Scanned documents are automatically processed with OCR before line numbering is applied. Maximum file size is 250MB.

How long does processing take?

Typed PDFs are formatted instantly — usually under 10 seconds. Scanned PDFs require OCR processing which takes approximately 1–2 seconds per page. A 50-page scanned document typically takes about 1 minute.

How do I receive my document?

After successful M-Pesa payment, a download link is sent to the email address you provide. The link is valid for 24 hours. If you do not receive the email within 5 minutes, check your spam folder.

What happens if my payment fails?

If the M-Pesa STK Push fails or is cancelled, your document is saved securely and you can try again without re-uploading. No charge is made until payment is confirmed.

Can I split a large document into volumes?

Yes. Use the Split feature in the editor to divide your document into volumes. The COA Auto-split preset automatically creates volumes of up to 500 pages each, complying with Court of Appeal filing requirements. All volumes are delivered in one email.

Is my document kept confidential?

Your document is stored securely on our server only long enough to process your payment and send the download link. Files are automatically deleted from our servers after 25 hours. We do not read, share or retain your documents.
